What's included
The growing season here is roughly five months, which means everything happens fast and nothing waits. We work to that calendar: opening up after the thaw, regular maintenance through summer, and a proper close-down before the first snow so nothing is damaged under it.

Closing a garden down properly
Most of the damage a mountain garden takes happens in the weeks either side of winter, not during it. Pots left out crack when the ground freezes, unpruned shrubs split under snow load, and leaves left on a lawn kill it under the pack.
We close gardens down as a proper job rather than a last mow: pots emptied or moved, vulnerable planting protected, gutters and drainage clear, and everything cut back to a height that will take the weight. It costs a fraction of replanting in May.
